The iPhone and iPad supports IMAP. IMAP will allow you
to retrieve emails and folders from SmarterMail and leave the emails on
the server.

Follow these steps to create a SmarterMail IMAP connection to an iOS device with Firmware 5.0.x:

On the iPhone, tap Settings.

Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Tap Add Account.

Tap Other.

    Tap Add Mail Account.

Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.

Click Next.

Ensure IMAP is selected.

Enter your incoming mail server information:

Hostname is generally mail.yourdomainname.com. If you aren't sure, contact your email hosting company

Username is your full email address

Password is the same password used to access webmail.

Enter your outgoing mail server information:

Hostname is generally mail.yourdomainname.com. If you aren't sure, contact your email hosting company

Username is your full email address

Password is the same password used to access webmail.

Tap Next.

The iPhone will attempt to establish an SSL connection to your
IMAP and SMTP servers. If this succeeds, you will be done and can
proceed to step 13. If this fails, you will see the prompt, "Do you want
to try setting up the account without SSL?"

Tap Yes.

Tap Save.

When prompted, "This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save," tap Save.

Tap the account you just added (identified by your email address)

Users
with Apple iOS devices that choose not to use the Exchange ActiveSync
add-on will need to configure their iOS device to retrieve messages
using either IMAP or POP3.

With POP3, your mail is saved in a mailbox on the remote server until
you check your mail. When you check your mail, all of the mail is
downloaded to your device and is no longer maintained on the server. If
you use POP3 and are traveling or check your mail from multiple
locations, you will not be able to view any of your old mail because the
messages only exist on the device/computer on which you originally
received your mail.

Follow these steps to create a POP3 connection to SmarterMail on an Apple iOS 4 device like the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch:

On the iPhone, tap Settings.

Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Tap Add Account.

Tap Other.

Tap Add Mail Account.

Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.

Click Next.

Ensure POP is selected.

The iPhone will attempt to establish an SSL connection to your

to step 13. If this fails, you will see the prompt, "Do you want to try

Tap Yes.

Configure Exchange ActiveSync on the iPhone

Applies to: SmarterMail 8.x (Enterprise only)

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is available as an optional add-on to SmarterMail. Unlike other synchronization methods, Exchange ActiveSync uses direct push technology to sync email, calendars, and contacts to the iPhone in real time.

Once you have activated the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync add-on and enabled Exchange ActiveSync for the specific SmarterMail mailbox, you will need to configure the iPhone to function with Exchange ActiveSync.

To set up your iPhone to access Exchange ActiveSync, follow these steps:

On your iPhone's home screen, tap Settings.

Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Tap Add Mail Account.

Tap Microsoft Exchange.

Complete the following required fields:

Email (your full email address)

Domain name

Username (with @domainname.com)

Password

Description (Optional)

Tap Next.

After a moment, the iPhone will ask for the server information. This is the URL to your webmail. For example, mail.example.com. NOTE: Do not include http:// when entering the server information.

Tap Next.

If your webmail does not support SSL, the following message will display: "Exchange account verification failed."

Tap Next and then tap Save. Complete step 10 of these setup instructions.

After step 10, edit the account you just added.

Tap Account Info.

Change "Use SSL" to "Off."

The iPhone will display a list of collaboration items to sync with Exchange ActiveSync. Choose from the list and tap Done to initiate the first sync.

How do I transfer/port my existing home phone number?

We are able to port your existing number at no additional cost. Please note that the process will take 1-2 weeks, and in extreme scenarios it may take up to 45 days.

The account / number must remain active at the previous provider until the porting/transfer process has been completed.

To initiate the the process, please provide the required information:
• Letter of Authorization: https://billing.seeuhome.com/portal/dl.php?type=d&id=3
• Copy of a Recent Bill (or print out of your account) verifying your name and number with the losing carrier.

E-mail them to support@seeuhome.com and we will quickly submit them to our port processing authority. You can assign your account a temporary incoming number (virtual number) while the porting process is underway.

These documents must be sent via fax or scanned and sent via email. We can not accept these documents in physical form, via the Postal Service or another courier.

The Letter of Authorization must have a handwritten signature. If you use another VOIP provider that does not supply bills, you can include a screen shot of the account summary page that includes your service address and telephone number. (We can not accept a copy/paste of an invoice or website for documentation purposes.)

Please do not cancel your account with your previous provider until you verify that the number is routing to us. A disconnected number can not be transferred. If you cancel your service with your previous provider before the transfer has been completed, you may lose your number.

While we make every effort to transfer numbers, Local Number Portability does have some limitations. In some rural areas, where it is serviced by only one carrier, we may not be able to port numbers from that area. To find out if your number is portable, please email support@seeuhome.com with the number and we will check to see that it can be transferred.

No changes will be made to your account or service until the above documents are received, submitted to our porting authority, and have been processed.

You're able to add additional phone numbers to your account from any cities/rate centers that SeeUHome offers service in. These numbers simply point to your primary number established with SeeUHome. This is especially useful if you want to have a presence in another city.

An example would be if you lived in Houston and wanted a Miami phone number. Miami locals, or anyone, could call this Virtual Number at a local rate rather than paying long distance rates.

Nearly all issues can be resolved with these steps:

1) Assign a static IP to your VOIP adapter in your router

2) Enable port forwarding and forward the following port ranges to the new static IP. Make sure to forward the entire range of ports and not just the first and last port.

5004 – 65000 (UDP)

3) If your router has a SIP ALG option we recommend disabling this.

4) If you are using other VOIP devices on your network, please contact our support team so we can make sure the devices will not conflict and make appropriate configuration changes.

If you need any help with these, don't know what they are, or need any other assistance, please contact our support team.

We can walk you through troubleshooting and/or use a remote support tool to log into your router and likely make all necessary changes for you.
